about

This Track was recorded on my Cell Phone.
Mastered by Alex Saltz at APSMASTERING.COM
2012 Hurricane Isaac hit the Gulf states, the Graves of plaqumens parrish and others were robbed of the sleeping souls, any hundreds of graves where washed away by the rising tides and flood waters. NPR ran a story on one such family that till the day searches for their relatives. the story was so touching that I wrote about it

lyrics

where's my Leola, Leola my dear
Where's my Leola, My Cajun Amarouex
Where's my Leola, Leola my Sweet.
Old man river took her away from me

I visit my Leola beneath the soft glow of the moon
I lie down beside her, sing to her this tune
a love song that i wrote when we were younger, just for her
my sleeping bayou queen, my Cajun Amourex

where's my Leola, Leola my dear
Where's my Leola, My Cajun Amarouex
Where's my Leola, Leola my Sweet
Dodgy old man river took her away from me

After many days at sea, that storm made the shore
with the fury of a Titan, and a birth of 200 miles
Trees cracked and crumbed neath' it's punishing winds
I left for plaquemens parish to see Leola again

Levys couldn't hold, and the water kept a risin'
while Leola lay sleepin' the tides begin to churn
that mighty mississippi, that dirty old man river
unearthed my sweet Leola, and carried her away

where's my Leola, Leola my dear
Where's my Leola, My Cajun Amarouex
Where's my Leola, Leola my Sweet
Dodgy old man river took her away from me

For a year I searched the bayou, everyday I'd walk the land
Searching for her casket, with her locket in my hand
Sometimes I'd think I'd see her, nestled softly on the banks
But that dodgy old man river fooled me once again

I'll never stop my looking, I couldn't go bare go on
knowing my Leola ain't back where she belongs
And my time is close to over, and I feel the need to sleep
But even in death I'll keep searching for my Cajun queen

where's my Leola, Leola my dear
Where's my Leola, My Cajun Amarouex
Where's my Leola, Leola my Sweet
Dodgy old man river took her away from me
